I have been running a "Virtual Cache" for several years.
This is a great sport to polish up you orienteering skills!
However .. stumbling across an unmarked ammo can can be a little unnerving for the uninitiated!

I enjoy the app called Ingress which is a geocache-esque. You go to monuments and popular destinations and tag them for your team. Another great way to get out and explore common destinations that are sometimes forgotten.

I was surprised at how many Geocaching points showed up on the various bases in Afghanistan! Seems like a somewhat dangerous activity for the environment. Still boredom will prevail!
