Ever think about the heroic dogs of 9/11?

I have great respect and admiration for K-9 handlers and their service dogs. I remembered seeing a story in the week after 9/11 about the dogs. About what walking across the debris field was doing to their paws, about the effect of not finding living survivors had on them, about the long hours each dog put in. Today I looked them up to see if there were any stories.
