WARNING!: STRONG LANGUAGE!

From: Stolen Valor on YouTube
--
This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."

He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

Receiving a discount by faking military service is actually theft and in some states classified as a form of shoplifting. So in addition to simple "stolen valor" that person is actually causing loss of revenue to a store.

She curses like a sailor, ease up lady. He obviously has some behavior issues and if it upsets you that much call the police and let them take care of it. You do not know what else he may have under that uniform.

I was standing on line at a theater a few years ago when I noticed a guy in jungle fatigues, but with brass Major's insignia. Knowing that subdued insignia was worn with that uniform, I asked the individual if he was on active duty. He replied in the affirmative. I asked for his I.D., "I left it home." I called BS and called the cops when he refused to remove the insignia. The responding cop told me he couldn't do anything because it was a federal offense and outside his jurisdiction. I told the cop that there were a half dozen vets in the line that want to kick this guy's ass as soon as the cop departs. He took the guy into custody for his own safety, and drove away. I never saw him again. Mission accomplished.

Mission accomplished? Really? So some guy is a little off (I mean, really...who in the right mind would impersonate a Maj???), so you threaten the guy's safety? For what? What did he do to diminish anything you accomplished or achieved? Big hero, yeah.

Capt Harlan Carvey - Have you no integrity? Do you allow any scumbag to cut in line? Are you that punk? And, BTW, I did not threaten his safety. The cop thought some other people did. Bottom line, people should not impersonate military personnel without earning it. Now, go soak your head, Pussy.

Sad really, both of them. I spent 10+ years in the service, and the only time I have ever heard the sort of language she was using to the degree she is using it was a RCC bracing a recruit who screwed up, and I'm not sure even they dropped the F bomb as much as she did. I agree with others I suspect the guy likely needs psychiatric help.

While I don't approve of the language I do support her and she should have called the police on this matter, I understand her feelings with this imposter who obviously has some issues clearly.

He may have suffered a TBI when he was active duty in the 70's, and has stayed there in his mind. She shouldn't have been so aggressive when she confronted him. He may've thought he was still serving. If he was trying to get benefits from this, that's wrong. But where's his DD214? That's between him, the business, and the law.

This is insane. I don't believe her verbage is the proper way to confront anyone. If she felt the need to validate his service she should have walked up to him and ask politely. Also, I don't see the need to record unless you're trying to get a pat on the back from true veterans. Clearly this man has issues and maybe her tone made him nervous which probably made him more confused than he already is.
