This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."
He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

A lot of profanity was used in this by the person filming it. The person in question appears to be me to have mental problems. She just should have called the police to sort this one out rather than cursing since she has no idea if he is a fake or a mentally ill veteran.

Either he has mental issues or is drunk or both, Certainly though he is posing as something he is not!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I do no now, nor have i ever had a problem with stolen valor. To easy to google and figure out the truth.
What i have an issue with is service members lying about their service.
If a guy walks up and says I was in the rangers. A few quick questions will tell you whether he telling the truth or not.
It is the guy who doesn't get crazy with his lies that is hard to detect.
If i told you I had a bronze star, you wouldn't think any thing of it, it s a"common award" and I am not claiming that it was for valor. so why not? Not like i am claiming the DSC or MoH. who would doubt that?
It is the quiet lie that gets my goat.
