This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."
He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

There was a guy living on one of my grandmothers properties. He was a little mentally slow. Said a bunch of dumb stuff. Made the claim that if you were in JROTC you didnt have to go through any form of basic and that you could keep your rank (I immediately laughed internally and got in a big debate with him, but he has a childlike mentality) anyways. He kinda reminds me of this guy. He didnt commit stolen valor like him. But he had no issue in walking around town in a full gulf war era BDU. Went to stores like that and it being a small town he was able to do that and not encounter new servicemembers who were overzealous. But he did take it a bit far in private. Anyways. Didnt watch the video. But that picture looks just like the man i described

Maybe if she applied herself to cleaning that nasty car and doing some exercise, she could lower her blood pressure and quit harassing the homeless.

If he was only wearing mil-surp clothes he'd just be an above the baseline anomaly, But this individual was actively attempting to impersonate an on-duty armed service member. Doing so is an attempted to gain authority. That is extremely dangerous behavior and cannot be tolerated.

That guy definitely has some mental issues, so I won’t put that much of attention to it.

Why call the police? That uniform has been discontinued for a while now. If we really want to stop Stolen Valor, stop selling military apparrel and gear, both curent and past, on the local economy. If we don't do it, it's open to public purchase and therefore permissable for wear.
I stayed at a holiday inn once and forgot to eat breakfast......... I still can't talk about it
