WARNING!: STRONG LANGUAGE!

From: Stolen Valor on YouTube
--
This video was sent to us by a lady out of the Reno, Nevada area. This guy was walking around pretending he was a Marine. When asked for his name he responded that, "He was on High Alert, and couldn't give that out."

He then said he was a member of the 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, which have been deactivated sine 1970. The Marines do have a 26th MEU(Marine Expeditionary Unit), but it doesn't have a 3rd Battalion.
He was trying to get a discount on or a free venue for his wedding using the claims.

Mental illness and even if it is stolen valor who cares. We know joe smucatelly does really play for the team whose gear he wears. Any of us would hear this guy talk and know he was ill. So unless he is actually getting some financial gain leave it be. Remember you did what these folks didn't, smile or laugh at them and walk away. It would be beneath us to give them time. You will never change them.

I think the lady needed to scale back her attack on this guy. We all know they are out there and a lot of them have mental health issues. It's best to avoid conflict with them and if you know they aren't a true veteran they most likely won't gain anything by posing as one. Dropping the F Bomb because your boy friend was a Marine won't solve the problem.

This guy is mentally ill. She could have, and IMHO, should have driven on. He's not hurting anyone. She is showing her ass and acting like she has been personally harmed.

Who cares he might have been a vet at one point and got out either honorably or dishonorably. It's none of that woman's business. It's also not illegal to wear that uniform especially being as it's no longer in issue.

Years ago when I commanded a Naval Reserve Center, we had a young man come to the center to talk to the recruiter. I was asked to sit in on the meeting.

While I was sitting there, he revealed that he had been at boot camp but sent home. He claimed the training instructor expected more from him and communicated with him telepathically.

He lived in a small town and said the Navy was watching him while he walked down the street. He said he saw cars slowing down to observe him. He knew the Navy was training him for a special operation.

As we sat there, my yeoman walked in and handed me a notepad. It said “keep him talking, skipper. The police are enroute.”

They arrived and took him to the local hospital for observation.
