Benning TV recently ran a story about Ranger Tom Block, who was one of several Rangers wounded during a battle in Afghanistan that occurred in October 2013.   The number of KIA and WIA from that particular conflict resulted in a rare mass-cas event for the Rangers.  The Blocks story of recovery is remarkable, and they are a testament to the Ranger and warrior spirit.

Watching the interview reminded me of another Ranger named Kanaan Merrikan.  Back in 2003 Kanaan's vehicle was hit by an IED in Iraq.  His wife was rushed to Germany because the docs didn't believe he was going to survive.  As it turns out, not only did he survive, but he is back in the 75th doing what Rangers do.  http://www.shadowspear.com/2013/03/army-ranger-kanaan-meriken/

It looks like there is a glitch in RP that I am not able to fix.  The text above should read as follows:

SGT West, I'd just like to point out that the top link of the two provided seems to be glitching and covering the majority of text your wrote. I don't know if it's a problem with my computer (I've reloaded the page multiple times on separate browsers), or a problem with the link itself or rallypoint, but it makes kind of hard to know what you're trying to say here when we can't read anything you wrote.
