First time home buyer here using my va home loan. How easy is the underwriting process?

My name is Bill Kelley, I am a Loan Officer at Guaranteed Rate Mortgage company.

A lot of variables come into play with underwriting so it's tough to say how the underwriting process will go unless you know the situation in its' entirety. Underwriting will depend on a few things 1) the property 2) the borrower 3) the overlays of the investor you have locked your loan with.

That being said, I don't want to alarm you. A loan officer and his/her team's main goal is to create a complete loan package and to dot the i's and cross the t's. This will really influence the ease in the underwriting department.
