As recent as a week ago, I got a FitBit Charge, I've been always skeptical about these trackers but it was a gift and I gave it a try. Well, I can say that I got the FitBit Fever, now I'm walking everywhere around! That 10,000 steps mark is my goal everyday! And let's not talk about the Challenges! You can create challenges and invite people to compete with you. I do like PT but this last week I ran more than 15 miles, definitely a personal record. If you ever see a coworker walking in the same place, or walking up and down the hallway, odds are is using a FitBit and is in a Challenge. I used to be a Polar user because of their simplicity but after FitBit, there's nothing that can be simpler than that.

For those who are actively using their FitBits, I just found this group: https://www.fitbit.com/group/228RZQ JOIN US!
Do you have the FitBit Fever? Wich one you use? Do you use any other tracker? Share what you use?

I've used the FitBit Flex for about a year and love it. Thinking about getting the one with the watch (is that the Charge?), but really like the step and calorie tracking feature. In fact, PV2 (Join to see) are FitBit Buddies, as we compete against each other to see who burns the most calories. Lots of fun

SGT(P) (Join to see) - This has to have happened to everyone at least ONCE. Serioiusly thinking of getting the Charge. I mean, if I need to get a new FitBit to replace the old one, may as well get a heart rate monitor and watch too.

My mom bought one of those and loves it. Personally, I like the Nike Sport watch which is better for running.

I used Polar for a long time, my outgoing OIC got me this Charge and I gave it a try and I love it. Besides the tracking, the motivational messages are good.

I have the Charge HR and I love it!! Great way to track your heart rate during workouts. I know its mainly a pedometer, but there are a lot of other functions that make it worth the buy!! I do kind of want one that has its own GPS so I don't have to run with my phone, but other than buying a Garmin watch or something similar the FitBit does the trick!!

SSG(P) (Join to see) I used Polar for a long time, I didn't want to switch but, once I did I don't think I'm going back.

I have and enjoy the use of a fitbit. I work better with competition.

This is the first I've heard of Fitbit. Can someone explain to me the difference between this and a pedometer? I actually just got a free pedometer from the VA today and it's pretty cool. It counts steps, distance, and calories. The only difference I can see (so far) is that Fitbit is connected to the Internet so you can challenge your friends.

PO1 John Miller you pretty much got it, in the app for the smartphone you set your personal info: weight, height and age. The Fitbit Charge tells you how many calories you have burned based in an equation, the Charge HR is more precise since it works with a Heart Rate Monitor and it can tell you better the calories burned. Their Flagship, the Surge, comes with GPS so you don't need the app to track your times in your runs. The one I have tracks my exercise by the app, the watch itself have no way of count your distance, speed or whatsoever. But the challenges are pretty fun and keep you motivated to do more.

I like my fitbit (received it as a Christmas gift last year) but I have heard they are inaccurate at times. I feel it's just another tool added to the fitness world and I like using it.

SrA (Join to see) Yes, I've been a victim of it's inaccuracies. The route I usually run has a lot of hills, most in the first 1.5 mile, I set my Fitbit to tell me every mile I've run. To my surprise, I shaved 1:30mins from the first mile to the second, when I checked the map, it looks like it sensed another Fitbit and it went all out of the route and back. Weird, but that happened just once, annoying however.

I am constantly walking for my job in the hospital and make sure to hit 10,000 by the end of my workday. I just got into a weekday challenge with something starting this week. Keeps me from sitting at the desk too long. Can't lead Soldiers from a chair.

SSG (Join to see) I'm not the best "Weekend Warrior" but I'm definitely a "Workweek Hustler". People that invite me to challenges are way ahead of me, I have to do 2 a day to get a 3rd, sometimes a 4th place. Last week the winner got +100K steps in the week.

I got my first Fitbit in April 2012, it was the Ultra. I was instantly addicted! Since my first one, I've had the One, Flex, Force, back to Flex, and now the Charge, not the HR one as I don't see that as necessary for me. I originally got to track my sleep, rather than my steps. I knew I was sleeping poorly, and just didn't realized how badly. My Fitbits have helped to improve my quality of sleep. I also love challenges!

SFC (Join to see) although I have an awful memory, it has surprise me how I don't forget to log my sleeps. The challenges are the best part, I've seen me going up and down the house just to get a new badge! I have the Charge too, looking forward to the Surge...

I have the Fitbit Charge. I wish I waited another two weeks for the Fitbit Charge HR, but I had the Fitbit Force and it died on me. I needed a replacement fast. I’ve been using fitness trackers for about 4 years and love them. My first one was the Bodybugg. It’s the most accurate, but I didn’t like the monthly subscription.
Knowing calorie burn is great, but without knowing calorie intake it’s not very helpful I use the Fitbit app on my Galaxy 5 to log everything I eat. Monitoring calories in/out has been very helpful in maintaining weight. I do slack off on logging food on the weekends.

I never used trackers like this, Polar was just gor working out and although is great for workouts, is not for using it thr whole day. This is way better, and looks good in uniform too.
