For all retirees; if you have qualified for VA healthcare, do you still get the Tricare plan? If you do, which plan?

The different plans for tricare change every so often and ultimately it's whatever fits better for you and your situation. The main question is whether you opt for prime or select or whatever they will be named in the future. I recommend not using Prime. That keeps you in the same medical pipeline you saw in the Military. Preference is given to Military Treat Facilities and you will end up looking at extended scheduling delays for everything. MTF's have right of first refusal but they generally don't refuse an appointment even if the appointment is 6+ months out. You'll get faster response times with select.
