Anyone living close to the north east of El Paso, mesquite hill, new builds or around there, what gate do you take and how is the commute?

NE El Paso is not a bad drive, I believe you would take 54 to 375 to either the gate just before 601 or 601 down to Chaffee gate. I know 2/1 EBH is very close to 375 and that drive is not bad. Not a drive I would want to report to PT and then try to shower at home. Don't buy a house in El Paso unless you plan to retire or rent out when you PCS.

Take chaffee, it's the fastest one before nine. After nine it's packed with big rigs (it's the commercial gate).

North East usually takes CSM Barrera gate or Old Ironsides Gate. Plus it usually depends on where your unit is at on Bliss. Gates get packed and are opened at 0500. CSM Barrera is open 24. Usually people are already waiting at Old Ironsides gate around 0430. Just wait until the a Brigade is back from a deployment. Most people bring their change of uniforms and gets cleaned up at the gym or somewhere on post. It's another hassle prior to 09 because that when the civilians start rolling in as well.

What unit are you going to?
