I've never done an ADOS tour, but I may very well have to submit for one IOT get my small unit (I'm in Idaho and the unit is in Missouri) prepped for an upcoming MOB. If I submit and approved, what is that process? Do I get BAH? Am I authorized a hotel or a small apartment? Do I get BAS? Rental car authorized? What are the Ins and Outs of ADOS?

Almost all your answers are in the "Financial Bible" (the DoD FMR - Department of Defense Financial Management Regulation) or the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR)*

Anytime you're on active duty orders, you are entitled to some sort of housing benefit. Which housing benefit depends on your situation (dependents? HOR location? etc.) and how long you are on orders. If a RC servicemember is on AD orders >30 consecutive days, then they get the full benefits, again, which is dependant on your situation.

Anything regarding TDY, hotel/apartment, etc. is in the JTR. Your questions (RC member on active duty) will be in Chapter 3 (specifically 0303).

Assuming it's a 'standard ADOS' in the area where you live, then you'll get full BAH for that zip code. If you're on ADOS away from your HOR, then you'll be usually be given BAH or government housing. If you're 'in-between' then it's a gray area and depends on the JTR and if the unit approves the travel funds.

If it's ADOS over 180 days, then you'll fall under the PCS guidelines.

It is just like being on Active Duty. If you go TDY somewhere, you might get a hotel & rental. If it is a long-tour, you may be PCS'd there with your HHG. You should get full BAH, BAS, and free Tricare Prime. You need to plan it out though.
