For those who got out are you glad you did? For those who stayed in are you glad you did? What's your advice?

When I was a Cpl of Marines, I was sure I wanted to get out, but I'm glad I stayed. It's a tremendous honor for me to serve as an officer.

If you have any doubt at all, stick it out. I got out after four, and have regretted it ever since. There's something to be said for collecting a retirement check around 40-ish. Welcome to RP, Corporal.

I was ok with getting out, but then always talked about getting back in. About 7 years after I ets'd I switched branches, and joined the reserves. It is a whole other ballgame trying to reenlist for active duty as a prior service applicant. I would just think things through and have at least a five year plan for if you stay in or leave service. One think to remember is that you never know what or where you can go in life without taking some risks and taking advantages of opportunities when they arise.
