I have considered it VERY heavily but decided against it. I don't plan on retiring until (hopefully) around age 50 and starting a law enforcement job then just doesn't make that much sense, both for the force, and for myself.

As an Army Chaplain, with master's degrees in Divinity and in Counseling, I might consider volunteering as the Chaplain for the local force, but I doubt I'd try to make a living doing that.

As a veteran of OIF I can see no other profession that would make me fulfilled as law enforcement.

I considered it but all Federal LE agencies require a maximum age of 37 and veteran's preferences are out of the equation since O4 and above don't qualify unless with at least 10% disability.
