FY14 SFC Selection Board AAR; top reasons for not getting selected.

<p>Congratulations to everyone who made the list! If you were considered but not selected, below is link for the FY14 SFC Selection Board AAR. It seems like the top issues were:</p><p> </p><p>1. No DA Photo or Photo in Class A instead of ASU.</p><p>2. Bad looking DA Photo or uniform not properly fit/setup.</p><p>3. I read the AAR yesterday and was amazed that NCO's are still taking DA PHOTO in greens. I do have to say on here that I want to thank SFC SANCHEZ for helping me the last couple of years and pushing me as hard as he did, I may not have liked it but it was worth it.
I will also thank CSM HOCKENBERRY, my BDE CSM for taking the time to not only look over our records but give us insight on what they look at and giving us and order o merit off of our records. I have an outstanding NCOS support channel here in 30th ADA BDE. The Army truly created the best command teams I have ever served under. I have never witnessed every 1SG, SGM and CSM from the BDE level down look over our records and give us and honest prefessional assessment of our careers.
I thank SFC Sanchez and SFC Everrett for looking over my uniform many times.
I truly respect these NCO's and will thank them public ally when I am promoted.
Congratulations to everyone who made the list, and to those who did not, DON'T STOP PUSHING YOURSELVES. don't settle for second best.
Rater's push your NCO's and give then honest feedback early on to keep them on track.

I was kinda shocked because I didn't make it and didn't have any shortcoming that I knew of IAW AAR. The knot thing that sucked was I was unable to show the board I was inducted in the Sergeant Audie Murphy and Sergeant Morales club and just was awarded a bronze star. You guys think I can try for a STAB?

SSG Castillo, I am confused on why you were unable to show the board that you were recently inducted into both clubs and awarded bronze star. . Did you not have the time to write a letter to the president of the board? All members of the board are required to read letters submitted prior to reviewing your records.
