I know this is a topic that often comes up with Veterans about whether everyone should have to serve in the military but here is a thought from a respected General about how we could make that more of a reality

I agree with GEN McChrystal. I've long been an advocate of mandatory service, giving back to the great country we are lucky enough to be citizens of. Doesn't have to be military service, as the General says. And his approach is classic. Not really mandatory, but expected. Only those who have served will get ahead. I love this quote:
"Meaning if you go to interview for a job, you go to apply to a school, you go to run for congress, people are going to naturally ask, Where did you serve?"
And, again, the service does NOT have to be in the military. I'm all for this. I think it's a great idea.

I definitly agree to this. America would be better for it i think. Just look at the Chinese...

I'd rather serve with volunteers than conscripts, just another reason to get to an elite part of the military.
