Geographical Bachelor, can anyone give me an insight on how that works? Can family still live on post if I were to get orders?

If you're trying to avoid moving your family, the normal way to homestead is to volunteer for Korea, Kuwait or any other dependent restricted tour with a HAAP back to your home station. It will reset your time on station. I've seen people stay on Bragg over a decade doing this.

Worked. Program no longer exists. Cannot have it both ways. You either live in the barracks and get no BAH or you live offpost and get BAH. As you are opting to have your family split, you are going to get BAH w/ Dependants based off of where you are stationed and then have to turn around and pay for quarters where they are, and where you are. That is going to each a chunk of change.
Not sure what your situation is financially but you might just have to eat that bullet and move them regardless of the program.

I'm currently in that situation now at Lewis. Just finished a 2 year in germany as a geo bat. Moved to lewis and was told I need to move my wife with me or I wont recieve BAH. I own a home and am paying a mortgage on it. The house isnt rentable and housing in Washington state is too expensive. If I live on post I lose my BAH and cant pay the mortgage. Right now my only option is to get an exception to policy from the CG.
