Saudi Arabia, as well as Syria, Iraq, and Jordan are the current countries that recieve Combat Pay & Patch.

That's generally auto generated by your S-1 or, if a Joint Command, the S-1 that does personnel actions. Your entire unit, if deployed, would be eligible. Dates of service in that country would be an element of your eligibility. I was stationed in (then) West Germany for three years from 76-79 yet 30 years after the "occupation" ribbon was awarded.

Unless people in the unit never leave a Country where they are not Authorized a patch and pay.
ie. Engineers stay in Kuwait, Said engineers never leave kuwait but ither portions of their unit leave kuwait and go to Saudi or Syria. Those that leave kuwait and go to (Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan) will recieve a Patch & Combat Pay (IDP) the ones left receieve Nothing. Thank you for your service you stayed in Kuwait to help the cause

SPC (Join to see) - Are you replying to the correct comment? I never stayed in Kuwait (Ali-al-Salem). I do have OEF though.

You may be eligible for Hazardous Duty Pay without also being eligible for a "combat patch."
The Army combat patch, officially known as the "shoulder sleeve insignia-former wartime service" (SSI-FWTS), recognizes soldiers' participation in combat operations.
While stationed in Kuwair 95 to 96, I received Hazardous Duty Pay, but were not authorized "combat patches."
Almost every single Army regulation is online. The most dangerous individual in any service is one who knows and understands the regs.

Any base located in Saudi Arabia is indeed Patch & Pay Authorized.
As of recently getting home from a deployment and recieving both from being in Saudi Arabia during my deployment you can and will recieve both.

SPC (Join to see) You get a patch & pay, I just recently came back from deployment with Saudi Arabia being my last point in my deployment. Received Combat Patch & IDP from being in SA.

MAJ (Join to see) Saudi Arabia, is one of the 4 countries Authorized Patches.
Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Saudi Arabia recieve Combat Patches with IDP, Syria recieves $100-200 extra on top of IDP pay.

So there's deployment patches and combat badges. Im guessing your talking about deployment patch on right arm? You most likely will that.

No they didn't get rid of anything. You can be deployed to a combat zone without actually being in combat. CIB and CAB are for those actually underfire by an enemy combatant. A combat patch is for being deployed to that combat zone. I was deployed all over the world. Doesn't mean I get a shoulder patch every time I deployed

SPC Roger Furtak those patches are only awarded when deployed in a combat zone. CIB have been around forever. CAB'S are new. You don't get a "deployment" patch. You get a combat patch. SMH. Just acknowledge the lesson that was taught and quit trying to prove something to a Veteran that knows.

SPC Roger Furtak if it is to a combat zone only. If you were to deploy to say Kosovo right now, you would not get a right shoulder sleeve insignia or combat patch. I literally have never heard of a deployment patch.
