There are already some good questions on RallyPoint about this but they could be a little dated. LTC Yinon Weiss is one of the resident experts.

LandNav and for sure being in top shape. Recall plenty of studs that could ruck their butts off; but, couldn’t find their points, especially at night and in the rain. They all got a free ride back to Bragg for out processing. And —> get some firsthand intel from guys that recently got through and especially the most common reasons why others bombed out. Good luck.

Run, run, run, ruck, land nav, ruck, land nav, run, run, run. Both guys I know who passed did so the second time, that was average 30 years ago. If you're not making it, then use it as a learning experience, stay positive, soak up everything you can so you know what to expect and are prepared the next time.

Run. Ruck. Obstacle courses. Land nav. And for the love of God, make sure you can work with the Indians without trying to be chief all the time.

Seriously though. Tear your feet up. Beat them to death before you go, so that they can take the beating once you're there.

100% correct but also find some books about SF organization and see how they are configured and operate tactically. They used to have a correspondence course and that was tremendous when I got to the Q Course. AND make sure you are quite at ease with yourself when you are by yourself. When I went through it seemed many people dropped out the first couple of days because they were by themselves emotionally and couldn't handle it. And of course remember when you function as a Team IT IS a TEAM EFFORT not an individual one. But, especially as above said, beat your feet to death and when you ruck make sure you are carrying 50 or 60 lbs.

Everybody always says run, ruck, land Nav. If you suck at rucking and running at this point and you already have a SFAS date you're behind the curve. You should be already at your top physical fitness point. Advice?? Don't quit. Be where you're suppose to be in the uniform you're suppose to be in. If a ruck is to be at a certain weight, be at that weight. Not over and for God sake not under. Good luck.
