GI Bill, is the BAH rate that I will get based on zip code of where I live or where the physical school is located?

I am still currently in school on GI Bill. The BAH goes by the zip code the school is located in. I have gone to 2 different campus's of the same school in different zip codes and the BAH is over 1000/mo difference due to campus locations. Look up the different pay scales in your area and decide if the extra driving is worth going to a campus a little further away. Going to a different campus let me survive on a part time job to be able to concentrate more on school then living conditions. Get with your local VA Voc Rehab rep to verify or call the GI Bill assistance 800 number. Same house for 3 years, 2 campus's same school, 1 paid 1800/mo the other paid 650/mo.
I would recommend looking into ways your local Voc Rehab can assist in your education program. They can assist you with laptops, printers and other things to help you with your education. If you are doing a 4 year degree, your GI Bill may run out before completion, make sure to save the last month or it by enrolling in Voc Rehab education program early to finish your schooling. If the GI Bill runs out, it will effect how much Voc Rehab will pay in BAH ( Voc Rehab uses chapter 33 post 9/11 GI Bill for entitlements). Not sure if that is nationwide or state specific, but look into it now to have a plan ready. If you have a disability rating, some Voc Rehabs will pay for your education and let you save the GI Bill, but that really depends on the office and the counselor you get. Hope this helped.

Thanks Sarg. I think I will just have to call the VA voc and ask... I am getting conflicting info. I appreciate the response and time it took to comment though! Thanks for your service

Yes, you are correct. I got burned on that one at Ft Campbell. Apparently Oak Grove outside the gate in Kentucky has a different BAH rate than a mile down the road that had a Clarksville, TN address.

PO2 Jeremy Williams - I am incorrect, they now figure the BAH by the MHA of the zip code of the duty station.
