“(During WWII) If someone supported Nazi Germany at the expense of the United States, we didn’t say that was freedom of speech, we put him in a camp, they were prisoners of war.”
Retired general and former Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark on Friday called for World War II-style internment camps to be revived for “disloyal Americans.” In an interview with MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts in the wake of the mass shooting in Chatanooga, Tennessee, Clark said that during World War II, “if someone supported Nazi Germany at the expense of the United States, we didn’t say that was freedom of speech, we put him in a camp, they were prisoners of war.”
He called for a revival of internment camps to help combat Muslim extremism, saying, “If these people are radicalized and they don’t support the United States and they are disloyal to the United States as a matter of principle, fine. It’s their right and it’s our right and obligation to segregate them from the normal community for the duration of the conflict.”

Ummm...
With all due respect to General Clark, what in the hell is he thinking?
Internment camps were a black mark on the honor if the United States.
What he is saying violates just about every principle of our republic.
I am pretty sure that it would be illegal without a declared war and a suspension of Habeas Corpus.

If they are here illegally, they should be deported. If they are radicalized and deemed a threat they should be deported. I could see arresting someone while they were awaiting deportation if they were deemed to be a danger to the public but not internment camps to just hold people we were unsure about.
If they are not citizens and they are a danger to our safety or aligned with an enemy of the US we need to deport. The first thing we need to do is stop allowing so many in without better scrutiny.
Wesley Clark has been a fool for many years. One only needed to listen to him as a presidential candidate a few years ago to appreciate the level of ignorance he amassed in his career.

It is hard to believe that this guy was actually a 4 star general. Why do we lock them up? Here is a radical thought.....lets actually enforce the immigration laws we currently have on the books. The rules that made me wait 5 years to get my wife's green card!
I am almost positive that if we did enforce and deport....we would see a drop in this type of thing.
