Yes. It is called a Reserve Commission but if you are Title 10, Compo1, and have enlisted through an active duty recruiter, then you will be active duty.

I appreciate it sir, been active duty all the way. He just confused me when he was telling me. So I had to ask the experts.

If you're prior service active duty and your unit sends you to OCS as TDY and return then you don't have to compete for a spot.

I kinda figured that, cause I have read up on OCS and when he told me that. I was confused. Thank you sir.

I signed an active duty 09s contract for OCS. We had guard and reserve 09s and prior enlisted in our class.

Yes; it is referred to as OTRA (Other Than Active Duty), under Title 10. For three or more years of active duty enlisted time you earn the "E" identifier. So; say you become a 2LT/O1 after OCS then, your AOC will read O1E, which equates to more $$ in pay. I hope this is helpful SGT (Join to see).
