I was mobilized there as an OC in 2015 and again in 2018. It really depends on your mission and what TF you're assigned to. 2015 was great for me as i learned a ton and grew as a leader. 2018 was kind of the opposite. I loved El Paso but missed the color green after a few months. Theres plenty to keep you busy and out of trouble. There also alot to get you in trouble so be careful. Hope this helps.

You will be part of 1st Army. the office is about halfway to the furthest north training area from FT Bliss. We helped MOB a National guard unit there and had to drive 70 miles every day from bliss to the training area. Get ready to put a lot of miles on your car.

I have been stationed out here for two years with the Joint Modernization Command with the OC Teams that conduct the NIE and large scale assessments. Do you know where you are going?
