To transition you just ETS, walk over to the Navy recruiter and hand them your DD214. The rest will depend on the Navy recruiting policies at that time

recently Navy and Air Force haven't been too keen on recruiting prior service, especially Army and Marine prior service. Apparently we are "too military" for their culture. lol

LTC (Join to see) - They have done that before. After the Corps I tried to go active AF. They said they didn’t need Marine NCO’s. We were to Marine Corps oriented.

I jumped from Army to Navy after a nine year break. I enlisted on the Reserve side as after a 9 year break under the PRISE-R program. The available rates were extremely limited and only a few required A School. The rate I selected didn't so all I had to do was pass the E4 exam with a 36% to make the rate permanent

You can request a conditional release if all parties agree. It’s much easier if your a reservist. I went from the Corps to Air National Guard to Navy Reserve back to Air National Guard.
