Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called VKH it affects eyesight, skin and meninges. I went legally blind, my vision is now at 20/40. This disease goes into remission, however Im an 88m and my doctor said that I am no longer ever able to operate a military vehicle. My doctor said I'll need to reclass. Has anybody ever gone through a medical reclass? Will I have options to choose what I want?

Assuming your condition does not warrant an MEB, you'll be offered a medical reclass. You'll sit down with the counselor and first determine what jobs you are eligible for based on life experience scores, rank, clearance, or other factors. You're allowed to list up to 5. HRC will make its determination based on availability of class seats, strengths, and your input. The Training seats are usually very short notice

SPC (Join to see)-Your re class options will be based on the needs of the Army, coupled with school availability slots and dates and your qualifications. Hope this helps, be well.
