Has anyone attended Excelsior College? If so, did you graduate and how did your degree help you?

I got both my BS and MS through Excelsior. They offered more credit for both past college experience as well as life experience and military experience so it was a no-brainer. If time management is a strong skill of yours, I'd recommend it. If not, stay away from the online schools and plant yourself in a classroom where you don't have to worry about it. For me, having a full time job, leadership position in the Guard and attending school full time, EC was a good fit.

I'm currently attending Excelsior Colledge now going for a bachelors in Psychology its a good school. Although i agree with LTC Mackay it all depends on what your going for in terms of a degree and field your trying trying to break into. Whats your major?

You need to look at the program and it's respective accreditation. The two engineering programs they have listed as ABET, if they show on the ABET, would check out. I did not recognize the Nursing program accreditation, but I a man not an expert on that. The Middle Atlantic states accreditation is a regional which is good.
My first reaction to this school was degree mill, from the back page ads of the Army Times, but if they have the right accreditation, it is OK.
Next consideration, how do employers in your desired field look at the school and program. That is far murkier. A tell tale sign is if the ED Center will give you TA to attend the school. A point in their favor is if the school has a physical campus in addition to on line classes. How long has this school been around? Are they solvent financially? If they fold, your degree is worthless. What is the school's graduation and continuation rates?

Sgt Porter,
I graduated with an Associate of Science in nursing in 2012. The degree allowed me to take the licensing examination for nursing in my home state and begin working as a nurse while I finished a bachelor's degree.
