My unit is going to be supporting CST APR-AUG 2019, and there's a chance my huaband deploys in February. I'm trying to get a headstart on finances, housing, medical, bills..ect. If you've cooked for the cadets could you tell me about hours you worked, where you stayed, things you brought, internet access? Anything else you might think would be helpful! Thank you.

I remember getting two hot meals a day (breakfast and dinner). The DFAC opened at 0630 or sometimes a few minutes later. Breakfast times were something like 0630-0800 and dinner was around 1700-1830. I believe there were always 2-3 regiments of cadets in garrison at any given time.

As far as cooking schedule, I would say they have the DFAC open for 3 meals a day, I know back in the 90's we conducted FLRC training for the ROTC and the cooks rotated out during the day with some lap over time. As far as staying it depends on his unit and what arrangements they have made, I have stayed in the old troop barracks, I have been put up in a motel off post. I can tell you the on post motels are booked by ROTC brass during this event.

PV2 (Join to see) Cooked? no, other side of the counter yes.

Its pretty standard fair, most days cadets ate 2 meals in the DFAC, some days three.. with the rotation of start days and schedules Id guess cooks are serving 3 meals most every day.
But there was no early or late chow times no midnight meals in support of CST cadets that I ever saw...

Sorry cant help any more then that

The comittee I ran did not, so I can’t say for sure.
As they had some overnights I’d assume there is some field feeding

Do cadets have their own cooks? I don't really know anything about them.

It’s been several years now

The DFAC used was for cadets and cadre only best I remember

But I’d guess that changes as DFACs are opened, closed, consolidated ect.

The cadets are (were) housed away from Permanent party as well.

I’d bet post leadership sent word out to all units .... stay away from cadets
I know they did at Fort Lewis the years I worked advance camp there

Can't say that I have. Best think to do is try to look for a group on Facebook or maybe an actual website for the group.
