I was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB from 1983-1991, and the base closed in 1993. Although the 354th lives on in Alaska, there is nothing on Rally Point to reflect the 354th TFW during that time, We were the first A-10 unit to arrive in Saudi Arabia in '90, so I hoped that I would find something here, but nothing exists to reflect that point in the Wing's history. I contacted Rally Point when I first joined, and again about a week ago, with no response. What does it take to get a duty station or unit added?

So far, I'm missing two units from my history--H&MS-16 (morphed to MALS-16 in 1988) and VMFA-451 (deactivated in the post-Cold War drawdown). Is there some way to add those units?

Yes, I had the same problem (couldn't find one of my old units). Trying to keep track of every unit that ever existed, and creating a community for each, it most likely an exercise in futility for the website. That's most problematic with deactivated units and closed military bases.

I figured smaller units within a larger unit would be the hardest to find, but we're talking about an entire era of the 354th's history is just not there. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only member of this site who was stationed at the Beach from 1946-1993. The only thing available is the 354th FW in Alaska. Yes, the same 354th, but a new chapter in it's long history.

I've had problems finding other units that no longer exist. The 313th MI BN from the 82nd doesn't come up in searches.

I've only found my IET unit here.
