Has anyone ever been in a screaming match or any altercation with their superiors?

Absolutely, as a Platoon Sgt and 1SG there were time when a Bn CSM or Bn Cdr were in the troop area and started barking out directives that were counter productive or downright dangerous to the troops. A good leader will never fear a confrontation with a superior, just make sure your are correct in your actions.

I learned a long time ago when I was in that if you as the platton Sargent didn't have one on one with the LT that one he would never learn to be a good leader, and some times those one on ones became very heated. Even once lead to a post field boxer smoking lol.

One of my platoon sergeants and I got into it, but we did it away from everyone else. I may not have liked the man personally, but I respected his skills and position.

Plenty of times. Ironically enough, it enhanced our professional relationship and fostered a personal one. Every single time.

Years ago, had a colonel try to lock me up in a gym over what one of my Marines said or didn't say. I stood my ground, but it wasn't pretty. No matter, we're still on speaking terms.

Just once. I was a SFC and the active 1SG and got into it with a MSG. Talk about weird. But I still went to parade rest even though I was technically in charge because he outranked me.

Yes and no, needless to say as I kept my cool I've watched two NCOs loose it. As I stood there at parade rest smiling.
