On my 2nd Tour... An LTC (1st tour non-combat arms Deputy G3) & I got into it then he locked my heels and proceeded to try and take a bite of my ass... the G3 SGM was laughing the whole time. Later told me I got to him (LTC) with some of my comments. Moral of this story... No matter how right & experienced you are... Someone always outranks you ... don't do what I did... I got away with it cause of the CIB and 2nd tour. I still was not wrong just should have presented it better. That said... I still laugh about the time I chewed out an LTC...

I was in a port security MP detachment at the end of Gulf War I. At this point in the mission we had running the port of Jacksonville down to a science, and ran two platoons on 12 hour shifts with the third platoon off duty, but subject to recall unless signed out. What this really meant was you worked two days on, had two days off but be near a phone, and then four days of actual off duty down time, all the while being 90 miles north of Daytona Beach during spring break.

Well, our COC was a soup sandwich. The CDR was flying home weekly without taking leave, the XO was MIA most of the time, and the 1st Sergeant was so incompetent he couldn't see why any of this was an issue. It all came crashing down when the port commander, (06 type), came blowing into town and summoned all his CO CDR's to a staff meeting. Well our CO was AWOL, the XO was MIA, and the topkick was at the zoo. 06 looses it, and shuts down the whole operation.

Fast forward to the first NCO meeting after the big blow up, and top is briefing all of us as to our new work schedule. He starts off by saying "the Army says you are getting too much time off, so from now on everyone is working 8 hour shifts, 5 day on and 2 off." 'The Army' huh? Not a word about the fact that our port CDR couldn't find an MP above the rank of E6, and when he did find one no one knew where any of the senior leadership was. I asked what about training and was told 'the Army' said we had too much time off, so we were working the new shift schedule on account of 'accountability'.

There isn't enough space here to document the breadth and scope of the lack of leadership we had had been working under over the past year, or the number of MACOM investigations we had been subject to, but I totally lost it. I started to object verbally to the stupidity I had just witnessed, but I just couldn't contain myself. I ended up literally jumping up and down on my leader's book while yelling "we can't train the troops, so we'll just #$%! the troops!". Let the record reflect that I uttered that phrase no less than three times in response to the 1st SGT trying to restore order.

Long story short is I beat a field grade Article 15 down to a letter of reprimand for my performance that day. I framed it on my 'I love me' wall.

I can say for certain that this never accord to or my family, I certainly understand your loss of a loved one especially a child of yours, in this instance maybe requesting to speak to your first Sgt might have been better, then speaking to your commanding officer, if that didn't work to over their heads and speak to their higher up, again my condolences for your loss

Hell no, it is disallowed, plain and simple. WTF do modern members of the Army not understand about orders, directives, traditions and RESPECT? You don't get to do just as you like in a disciplined fighting organization. Maybe that is the reason that the US Army is actually conducting a study of why the US Marine Corps out performs them day after day, week after week etc. Who did Douglas McArthur say was the best fighting outfit in the Pacific? I'll let you guess...………….. initials are U . . C.

yes I have in circumstances FOLLOWING Basic....that guy up there in the photo however, needs exactly what he is getting....Basic is a separate thing from military life. I got my fair share in Basic which was what I needed to pass....that is the objective in Basic.

Had a discussion with 1ST SGT about Fire Safety when he put chains and locks on barricks doors. Post Fire Inspector had my back by pulling a inspection ask about said chains and lock and informed Top about said Safety rules. He was not to happy with me but when you a cook well think we know where this went.

One of my NCO's in Korea was having an affair with another NCO, well the other NCO then slept with a PFC in my unit. Drunk, the male NCO went to confront the PFC. He went in the barracks, called him out into the hallway, and made him stand at parade rest. He then sucker punched the PFC in the face knocking him to the ground. Before I could even get down the hall, the PFC's roomate (former Marine) had knocked the NCO clean out. He received no disciplinary action, but SGT sucker punch was soon after PFC sucker punch.

While I was in "A" school in the Navy, we had four USMC corporals, who were reclassifying. One of them thought he was a super Marine, and decided i would be his pet project. One day I had enough, he had his hand in my face pointing at me, and i grabbed his fingers and bent them backwards, and told him, "You keep this shit up, and i will teach all the shit the marine corps didn't about Tea Kwon do."

Only time i ever had to resort to that with a non peer.
