Yes, but it was a lopsided affair. I was an intoxicated E-4, he was a sober Maj. He screamed, I stood at attention (to the best of my abilities).

Yup. And proud of it. As a Lance, more than once laid into one particular NCO for not only blatant racist comments, but also for being a complete moron when it came to basic MOS related performance and skills. Probably a few more to boot.

as the Medical Platoon SGT I lost my temper. (I was a SSG holding a SFC slot). The Sgt first class in the motor pool had failed to hold a vehicle I'd requested a month earlier for a training event. I had spent months checking and double checking things to make sure the training would go smoothly. I was angry and did not hide my displeasure, I was loud and a bit obnoxious. The SFC calmly listened, remedied the situation, and "killed me with kindness". It put us a little behind on the training but the training still was successful. I felt like a jerk for how I acted and for months after that I would tell him how I appreciated his professionalism and for not returning my anger with anger. I have apologized. I learned from him how to be a better leader.

In my civilian career I had a boss who would get angry and was unprofessional. If I asked for something and he was his bad mood and said no I'd just go on with my work and most of the time he'd come back and say yes. My coworker on the other hand would argue with him. She once asked me why I usually got what I requested and I told her because when he says no I don't go into a pissing contest with him, when he says no to her she would immediately argue and yell. Sometimes it is all about how you approach someone.

Back at Hood in 2001 when I was a SSG I had a POS SFC Platoon SGT that started in on me one morning because one of my guys went to sick call and didn’t make it back for 0845 formation so the SFC comes into my maintenance office and starts yelling at me for not knowing where my soldier was, things got to the point where he took off his rank and said we could handle it Old School, he came across the office and got up in my face, I told him a few times to back off or I was going to hurt him. I was going to hit him but I had a cast on my right hand from a previous injury so instead I shoved him pretty hard. He stumbled back across the office and fell down, I got ready to fight but instead he says “I got you now you put your hands on me, I’m telling the 1SG” I called him a little bitch and said I thought we were handling it Old School but he headed to the 1SG’s office, I jumped in my pickup and beat him there and gave the 1SG a heads up, within the next 30 minutes I was in the BN CSM office and got one of the best ass chewings of my life. In the end I got a Local Letter of Reprimand. The SFG also got a Letter and I made E-7 about a year later. The E-7 became the joke of the BN. Since the LoR was local it didn’t leave that BN and I ended up making E-8 a few years later and even was the Mechanical Maintenance BNCOC 1SG for a couple years

Playing some dumb board game involving giving clues, at the barracks with my team leader (E5). He questioned my use of the word "golf" to describe the "gulf war". The argument got so bad I threatened to throw him off my balcony. We were both held back by the rest of the group bc we seriously tried to throw each other off the 3rd story balcony. We were good the next day though. No harm, no foul!

Requested leave to be home for birth of my first child. Commander replied that I was there for the lift off I had no need to be there for the splash down and refused to sign. For once I managed my temper and passed this on to a Full Bird Chaplain. Made it back 6 hours prior to childs birth. Upon return to unit 5 days later payback from commander commenced. Dealt with it as it was worth it.

I had a situation where I told the truth to a fellow LTC. She was a pain in my ass & later stuck a really mean spoke in my part of the organization, that resulted w/me & my staff w/70-80 hr work weeks for months during a deployment. THAT part, I sincerely regret for what that did to my staff. However, pay back can be & was a bitch!

The second time was in Korea while inprocessing. My son was stillborn about 4 months prior at my previous duty station. My command team got my orders deferred for 90 days so that they could a compassionate reassignment approved for me. The warrant officer in charge at reassignments said, "F--- THAT! Get you $#!+ packed and get ready for Korea, SGT Blue!" So I was already pissed off when I got there because I couldn't mourn with my family nor could I attend the STATE-MANDATED grief counseling I was supposed to receive. Anyway, during the inprocessing, the band warrant asked if there were any singers. I raised my hand, he auditioned me on the spot and said, "Let me get your orders so I can get you moved over here." The next day when the units came to pick up soldiers, I was greeted by a MSG and two SFCs, one of which became my $#!++y-@$$ PLT SGT. All three of them where acting like asshats, talking about, "WHY YOU TRYIN' TO GET OUTTA OUR UNIT?!? WHAT, YOU DON' WANNA DO YO JOB HERE?!? YOU AIN' A REAL FISTER!" and all other kinds of stuff. Then the story came out that they got into it with the band warrant about me going to the band and they didn't like it. After about 5 minutes of getting berated at parade rest, I lost it and started shouting back at them, talking about how I'm not even supposed to be here and that I should be mourning my son with my family. The MSG got right in my face, grabbed my collar and snarled, IDGAF about your son!" I bashed his temple with my elbow and that put him out. Then the two SFCs got into it with me, jockeying for prime position to take me down. The fatter one charged me and parried him into taller one to where they fell down together. From there, I put the boots to them until they were a rainy and bloody mess. I snapped back to reality from survival mode and screamed, "WHO ELSE WANTS SOME?!? WHO ELSE WANTS THEIR ASS KICKED TODAY?!?" The HHC 1SG came up beside me and said, "Come one, SGT Blue. Let's talk." I didn't face UCMJ or anything for what went down, but I was stuck with that PLT SGT until he got orders for Bliss.

Yes I have. The first time was on Fort Bragg. My wife and I experienced a miscarriage with my daughter in 2011 shortly before I was forced to go to the field and do the STX lanes with a fractured foot and a swollen ankle. I was on doctor's orders to stay off it for 10 days until my MRI results came back. I was on quarters doing everything I was told to do to make my healing go faster when I got a phone call from my PLT SGT, asking me "WTF, SGT Blue?!? Why in the f--- are you at home instead of being on the STX lanes?!?" He knew my situation, but I reminded him anyway. He showed up at my quarters all big & bad like he was gonna drag me out of my housing to make me go. Now mind you, it was about 2000 hours and my neighbors were in chill mode. He's talking all kinds of BS about what he's gonna do to me and I'm looking at him on my crutches and saying to myself, "Please, God...don't let him come into my house because I will cripple this Special Forces washout if he does." God might have wanted me to humble him, though, because he cross that threshold and put his hands on me. At that point, I didn't care about pain, military bearing, or any other Army stuff. I was afraid that he was going to try to maim me and maybe hurt my wife and son. And so while balancing on one leg, I proceeded to clinch him and break his ribs with my knee and his jaw with my elbow...all with my wife screaming for help and my son crying in confusion. I shoved him out of my house with one of my crutches and called the MPs. They got my statement and got him out of my yard. When my quarters were up, I went back to work and was transferred to BDE HQ to take over as Land Acquisition NCO (and a few other titles). From what I understand, my now ex-PLT SGT had been arrested, charged with assault, and received a letter of reprimand for Conduct Unbecoming A Senior Non-Commisioned Officer. I don't know what else happened to him after all. I hope he got hit head-on by an 18-wheeler!

You will never win a screaming match so no use in getting in one. If you have a problem the chain of command is there for you just let them know you are going up. Stay professional no matter what.
