I am looking for someone who is willing to share their story about considering and/or getting coolsculpting, or any other cosmetic procedure, to pass tape. I am a graduate student at UT Austin working on my thesis concerning military fitness standards and cosmetic procedures. This is for an academic purpose and your name will be kept anonymous. Thank you.

Hello,

Cool sculpting works however, it can take weeks to months to see the full effect. Additionally, it works great for a particular body type, there is no clinical effectiveness for obese candidates . It works best on “ skinny fat” body types. its much cheaper and safer that Liposuction!!

It seems to be big here in El Paso. At 47 I can honestly say that shedding a few pounds or getting rid of the love handles is not as easy as it once was, even with eating clean and exercise. I briefly considered it, but as I have never been taped in my life and have no problem with weight, I realized it would be solely for vanity's sake and I could spend my money on better things.

Most "cosmetic" surgery is not covered in the services- so it would come out of pocket- and I don't know if commands would allow it.

Has anyone ever considered getting CoolSculpting to meet tape?

I question whether military regulations would allow a Serviceman to take advantage of elective surgery for this purpose.

Are you saying that soldiers have an elective surgery "benefit" available to them through the military? that Can be used for elective surgery (ie cosmetic procedures)? Is this written somewhere?

I admit to being interested in coolsculpting. I used to be fat and still have love handles from it. I hate seeing them in the mirror and no amount of diet or exercise has reduced or eliminated them.

After doing some research it looks like CoolSculpting is a great option for those who exercise and diet but still have stubborn spots of fat. It's kind of expensive but might be worth it. The fat removed does not return. I am actually considering it. Throughout my military career I always had to deal with being taped because of my body composition. Even when I was in the best shape of my life, straight out of basic training. Thanks for exposing me to this information through your survey and this post.

SPC Jovani Daviu - I would like to hear more about your experiences with the tape test. Would you mind "connecting" with my profile here on Rallypoint?
