Has anyone ever had trouble getting their house hold goods delivered after being put in NTS?

When I departed Minot, we had our HHG placed in NTS. We were going to be living with family while I was finishing school (which was a stupid decision in and of itself), and now we have found a place to live. When I requested our stuff to be released, they told me the earliest they could do it was 23 August... leaving me and my family to be sitting with an empty house that we are paying for that we can't live in. Is there any way to get this expedited, or am I just stuck with one last big blue wienie?

I had the opposite problem. About half way through my tour in Germany, my non-temporary storage items which consisted primarily of things we were not authorized to ship because the Gov't provided the items. I had to store everything in what was originally a common area and then I had problems with transportation shipping the stuff back to the states because it wasn't authorized to be shipped. On your problem, summer is a busy time for moving companies and they only have limited capability. I know ILE students at Ft Leavenworth have to work in a 90 day window to ship HHG even though they all are eligible to depart on the same day.
