I'm probably the most bipolar. Was active ENL, went reserves, went active as an officer, and then finished reserves. Really had to make sure all the AD time, drills, At, ADSWs, recalls, etc. added up right before I finally retired. Sure it's not the norm.

I went from AR into the AGR program. Right now with the new business rules, E-1 to E-5 prior service can go Active Duty. Just need to contact your local recruiter (Active or AGR Recruiter) to help you out. You will have to do a 368(Conditional Release) and a 4187(Personnel Action Form). The 368 has to be signed by the first GO in your chain of command. So, if RA is what your are looking at, right now is the time to jump on it. I don't have the USAREC message in front of me, but you might have to have 48 months are less of Active time. Once again, just check with a local recruiter.
