David Cook from Albuquerque went hiking alone in the mountains near Aspen on 9/20 and has not been heard from since. He expressed interest in climbing some 14'ers specifically the Maroon Bells. Local search efforts have been suspended. This is very rugged territory. Anyone know or hear anything, the family would like to hear.

Col Rebecca Lorraine - If he is still alive he is going to be in Rough shape... Hope he paid attention in survival classes...
O posted to My "Space Book Page... W've got a lot of Guys in the area and the 10th SFg is in the area... and train there all the time because of the similarity in terrain and altitude as Afghanistan...

Just as stated. Search suspended until something concrete comes up. That area is designated wilderness for a reason. Born and raised here, so I have a respect for the mountains, and how quick someone can just vanish.

I don't understand how anyone, especially someone described as an "expert mountaineer", would dream of going hiking/mountaineering alone without a Satellite GPS locator such as the Spot Communicator. It's just plain stupid and may have cost Dave Cook his life.
