The VA has many programs to help Vets they advertise on their Ebenefits website. Has any had any success getting the VA to actually help them with these programs? How many have run into the same issue I have had where the employees don't have a clue about what is on Ebenefits? Has anyone run across an employee that actually knows the VA programs? The picture is from the VA's Ebenefits Website which again refers everyone to another Federal Agency which has no clue about the program...

We don't. I work on compensation and pension disability claims exclusively. Even in that department, we have an exclusive special ops lane that deals with very specific types of claims. For Texas, education benefits go through muskogee, OK. When you call the 1-800 number, you'll get through to somebody that can only look at notes and add notes to a claim. VA healthcare is a whole other monster. There is far too many resources for a VA employee to know them all. Some people that work with me have a hard enough learning how to learn compensation claims alone, shocker... I know. If you want to message me, I can try to help you find the answer.

Hello David I have a question for you I was given 30% service connected disability from the navy I was told to go strait to the va and put in my claim and I did so but the va rated me at service connected 0% some years passed and things started to happen that are directly connected to my condition I went back and put in another claim I received a letter to come to the va for an examination the letter told me be prepared to be at the va all day but when I got there I didn't get an exam the examiner asked me 15 minutes of questions and sent me on my way later I received a denial letter and the denial was from a symptom of my disease and not the disease . I have appealed the decision and I have bean waiting for 6 years now and although I am 30% service connected from the navy I cannot use many of the va benefits that the va has to offer . my condition is called sarcoidosis but now it is going into Neuro sarcoidosis . if you can help me with any information I would be greatly appreciative my email is [login to see]

Hi Rick, I think you need to be a little more specific about the issue you're having, but you are correct when you say one hand doesn't know what the other is talking about. Part of the issue is the different branches of the VA (VBA, VHA, etc) don't talk to each other well.

Many job initiatives are Federal programs that the VA tells you about but are not necessarily offering themselves. Further, many HR directors don't really understand the way the programs are supposed to work... It's a mess...

Sir, thank you for the response. I have seen this farming program on the VA Ebenefits website. No one at the VA Voc Rehab or at the Regional Offices seems to know what these benefits are the website (ebenefits) has posted. Then when you point out the program they are all surprised that it exists. Then when they see it you have to go to another agency to only find they know nothing about the program...

Extremely sad, but not at all surprising...

I've experienced this. I was sent from the VA to Fort Lee and back, and not one person had a clue as to anything about what I was trying to do.

I have had this with several programs the VA offers. It's a shame they can't do the things the VA says they can...
