I was assigned this to read with my Civil War studies Course but have not yet, It is supposed to be one of the best memoirs of a general out there. Thoughts?

Yes, I recall it was only a laborious, single book not two or three volumes, "Complete" notwithstanding. Somehow, I want to link it with Samuel Clemmons.

MSgt (Join to see) thanks I will be inquiring and looking into purchasing the book. I am a Civil War buff. I am always wanting to know more about the Generals of the Union and Confederate.

You're welcome! I had this course this time last year with UMUC. The course was online and the teacher had us logging in to Yale University to watch one of the teacher's lectures every week. As many times as I have been taught Civil War history in school, this class honestly was the one that gave me "real" information. Not just dates, names, who won. It was a lot of the slavery point of view and Confederate view. Completely worth it!
