Has anyone taken Amtrak or rode on any American or Canadian rail service?

My family and I have ridden on Amtrak several times, most recently to go to Washington, DC. Living in Eastern Maine, we had to travel to Boston's South Station to board, but it was a wonderful trip in both directlions. Even though it WASN'T the "super fast" Acela, we were at times speeding along at 120 mph (the only "disconcerting" aspect was that there were no seatbelts). (We clocked our speed on an app called "SpeedBox", and you can monitor your progress right on Amtrak's website, in real time.) We were traveling "Business Class", which provided larger seating areas, free WiFi, charging ports, and complimentary soft drinks. Amtrak is only slightly less expensive than flying, but it's certainly a much more enjoyable trip (with windows MUCH larger than on any airplane)! (Amtrak DOES have a "Veterans Advantage" program - info on their website.) Though it's been quite a while, we have also traveled on ViaRail Canada, and it is equally enjoyable - much more so than flying!
