Neurologist is unable to determine cause through extensive blood work, spinal tap, and MRIs. I helped lay fiber from one side of BIAP to the other, dug a trench for 1000's of feet. Now reports of chemical, bio weapons, du, in the area are coming to light from a multitude of studies. I just want to know if others have been experiencing Gulf War like Illnesses since coming back. My VA here hasn't been any help at all. Please let me know if I'm not the only one. Thanks

I was there at that same exact time. We lived right near the burn pits. I left with a chronic cough that I still have and constant respiratory issues and asthma.

Were you able to file a presumptive claim for that with the VA?

SSgt Shawn Proctor I don't actually know what a presumptive claim is and I'm still active so I'd like to avoid the VA as long as possible.

Good on staying in and avoiding the VA. I was medically retired in 2009 after a huge class action suit. I was Air Force at Sather AB and Balad. Presumptive the VA's way of v acknowledging that Gulf War Illness is real. Now trips from OIF are now showing the same symptoms along with noticing that the burn pits were a real issue too. Hey good luck and I hope you can keep your asthma under control and stay safe.
