Today a co-worker (never served) asked me why I invited him to RallyPoint since he didn't serve in the military. I told him I didn't. When I came home tonight I received an email from my former roommate at Delta Chi, wanting to know the same. He was confused with the invite sent to him, "Please connect to RallyPoint. There are a bunch of people from our unit on there and ey can help you get on the inside track on great career opportunities, See you on RallyPoint... and look rward to catching up!" Misspellings are actually in the invite. My friend responded, " confused by the "people from our unit." Not normal language for frat brothers.

RallyPoint does not invite anybody that you do not select to invite. When going through either the registration process, or invitation process, RallyPoint offers the opportunity to invite others from your other social network accounts, but you have to give permission to do so.

If you would like your individual account reviewed, please contact [login to see] with details of what messages were sent, to whom, and when, and they can review your situation.

I may have given permission when I was first invited. First I don't like the personal looking emails being sent to my contacts, unlike Linked-In. Also I don't know who they are being sent to. RallyPoint doesn't show auto invites in your sent list. If that were the case you could dis-invite. Luckily I didn't link RallyPoint to my Facebook account. Since I was invited through Linked-In, I figured that Rally Point only sent auto invites to those who indicated they were in they served in the military. Unfortunately that is not the case, and there is no way to shut it down that I can see.

I have received complaints from contacts on LinkedIn who say that they have gotten multiple invites to RP from me. Moreover, I have been on RP long enough that people shouldn't still be getting these invites (and certainly not be getting multiple invites). Finally, it does seem that there should be some way to turn these off so that no additional invites are sent.

Bottom line: I may have given permission at some point, but does that mean I can never rescind that permission?

Okay, I get it, I must have authorized the release of automatic emails to my contacts during the signup phase, lesson learned. That's on me, now how do I rescind the permission to send auto invites? As a member administrator, do you have the answer?

I hear you. It was getting a little annoying there for a while --- especially when my LinkedIn and Facebook contacts were complaining about getting multiple invites. Fortunately, it appears that that has stopped now ...

I don't really care (about invitations, I mean), but as LTC Yinon Weiss said, you probably authorized it, Maj (Join to see), and didn't realize it.
