What is the purpose of a popular vote by the American public IF a select group of people can negate that popular vote and choose someone else? IT HAS HAPPENED.

It's long overdue. I think that to be fair to the rest of the States who are electing a President of the United States, that all votes should count and the winner is by the popular vote by starting with the farest State first from the West to the East.

Mr Kaupe if we do away with the electoral college then the election will be an overwhelming and bigoted farce as the election will be controlled by the liberal collection of just a few cities therefore it is necessary to maintain the electoral college as the rest of the country will have no say in the way that country thinks or wants this country run.

I'm not disputing an electoral system when I didn't make this system. All I seek is fairness in what we the Soldier, Marine, Salior, Airmen, and Coast Guard men and women who have served this Country. There are way too many idiots who want to do anything just so they can say they're the President. Both of these so-called politicians are a joke. Not only to our Country but to the World as a whole. God forbid if we have another war, when we have two already.

Klein are sending this to me? If so do believe you have me quite confused with someone else. In fact I belive everyone should be forced to like taxes. This way everyone has a say in our government. If in fact this term the political arms of our governing bodies get the ass holes who are corrupt out would be great. I spent over 24 yrs government and I have seen some of the corruption run wild. Every bodies voice should be heard and not filtered by "bigots" you mentioned.

No. The electoral college system spreads presidential votes more evenly than raw population density would allow. But I'm not a big fan of the winner take all approach to the current version of the system as practiced in 48 of the 50 states.
