SSgt Donnavon Smith is right; it depends on AFSC. For Med Techs, 4N0X1, we become eligible to test for LPN certification which is a 2 year civilian course.

I cannot say it helped in the long run and exclusively on its own, Senior. It oftentimes appears as though the undergraduate degree is the new gateway in to high-paying employment in the civilian sector. Even with an MBA, my employment opportunities have be scarce at best. I think unless we hold a CCAF in a highly technical field, it is what it is. I will say that the pathway to higher education started with the completion of my CCAF. It was just the next logical step in the equation, you know? This is where the military was very helpful IMHO. Education, coupled with experience, is a formidable ally towards employment these days it seems.

Negative. It was a nice EPR bullet back in the day, though. Also a fair confidence boost that I could still hang in the classroom, which led to me getting a Bachelors. To be fair, the CCAF is just an Associates, and an Associates from any other community college is probably equally unhelpful if you're in a position that scrutinizes your academic credentials. I never expected anything from it, and only got it to justify using TA.
