Have you been to the Scoutmaster's Council Camporee at West Point? It is an outstanding and well run event open to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Venture Crews. Run by approximately 250 cadets it serves a weekend of Scouting skills, military skills and socializing to over 7,000 youth. Here is a video of the 2014 event: https://youtu.be/0H5hmrtvJ-A

I participated in that when I was a Cadet. "Pioneering Committee" was a GREAT group of us who had a blast and so did our Scouts.

No 2LT Scott Armstrong, I have not ever been to a scoutmaster's council at West Point. That sounds like it must have been a lot of fun and a good chance to help shape young men.

When my kids were younger I was a scout master but they did not like scout they said it was not challenge so they joined the U.S. Naval sea cadet Corps and I have to say I think it is a better program it offered more for my kids like seal school, EOD and all types now it is not for all boys or girls seeing it is a military program
