Hearing test. I had a constant loud ringing in my ears all the time. So they put me in the booth, and tell me to press the button when I hear a tone. So I'm listening and pressing the button frequently when the door opens and they say "sir, we haven't started yet. OK, so now I'm listening really hard, and waiting until I'm sure the tone is theirs and not mine. After a couple of minutes without pushing the button the door opens and they say "sir, we started two mi utes ago". OK, so I listen again and just decide to randomly push the button every few seconds or so. I'm in there for around five minutes, and they open the door and say we're done. They sign my paperwork and I'm on my way.

In basic training i was on the m16 qual range when a hurricane was blowing in, i couldn't see past the 50m target through the wind and rain and was laying in 6 inches of water. but i came off the range with a min score! i assume the wind knocked the targets down as i did see that happen that day as well. i wanted to go back because i knew i could get expert, but i qualified so i wasn't allowed to.

I was in PLDC at Fort Campbell, KY (yes, that's SSgt rank you see - you'll have to read my profile) when they had a minimum PT score to make Commandant's List, Honor Grad, whatever. I had scored a 245 - there was some question as to the length of the "2 mile" course and it turned it that the course was longer than 2 miles. At any rate, due to that technicality, they dropped the min PT score requirement to 245 and I was top of the Commandant's List. I came second only to another soldier from my same unit who had outscored me in both the classroom as well as the PT score. There was no end to the grumbling. Had the minimum remained at 250 then I would not have been considered and my academic merits would not have pushed me to the top of the field.
