For 100% disabled, spouses are not allowed to accompany them...I need my spouse as they are my caregiver and support.

Hopefully this will be changed to allow spouses.

SGT Randell Roberts - what exactly describes a blue card since my wife works in the military store? Thanks.

Can we stage a silent or peaceful demonstration, or perhaps we can collect signatures.

Yes, but I’m my experiences, it’s very unreliable. Furthermore, AZ ANG is Not eager to have pax on their flights. I’ll spare the details for now, but can attest to this Fact with firsthand knowledge and details. So I was Shocked to learn than Sen John McCain sponsored the bill to allow space-A for disabled veterans. I’m 21 yr active duty retired and gave up rather than continue battling for a ride (on empty aircraft) with AZ ANG at Sky Harbor!!

We were bumped after initially being on AD flight from CHS to DOV. It had something to do with conditions at DOV, never did understand it. Confirms that stuff happens though.

Aircraft Commanders NOT Passenger Terminal personel have ultimate say in the number of seats available for Space A travel. You have no idea what considerations contribute to a specific flight. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got 21 or 81 years of service! Don’t paint the whole program with the same broad brush. Maybe you’ll have to pay to fly to a larger base that has more Space A availability. I would guess, reading between the lines, your attitude may have something to do with you inability to get manifested.

MSgt Don Miller my Perception (which you apparently perceive as an attitude) is the result of my experience with Sky Harbor ANG. Your comment that I have no idea what factors contribute to allowance of pax’s is valid and I appreciate it. Your assumptions and judgments of me are not (valid nor appreciated). I agree that the number of years one has served to obtain fully vested retiree status doesn’t matter. Given my experience with Sky Harbor ANG, I doubt the benefit for disabled veterans to be allowed to fly Space A will likely be any benefit at all if attempting to fly out of Sky Harbor. I didn’t intend to launch an attack. It’s unfortunate that your response wasn’t better received by suggesting more positive experiences or that the Sky Harbor ANG IS more receptive. Unfortunately your comment is rather validating of what my experience was .... frustrating and disappointing. I’m not trying to fight the system, rather recognize it for what it is, so that people don’t waste their time pursuing a dead end. That’s all. Perhaps others will post their success and satisfaction with Sky Harbor ANG? I’d love to hear that the situation is more hopeful than my experience indicates. Things change and I’m hopeful process improvement, mission requirements, etc (whatever the many factors that affect pax manifestation) may result in more positive customer service service And space A travel than I experienced. My comment might be used as an opportunity for improvement (vs judgment and criticism of me). I’d be happy to share the details of my experience with appropriate Sky Harbor personnel, not to complain but for any merit my experience might have for insight or process improvement—good intentions only.
For edification, I don’t think my frustration and disappointment is person or personnel specific, rather more likely culture or system related. Things that are more reflective of senior base commander level than operational personnel level...and why I even posted my comment. It certainly wasn’t intended to criticize the operational personnel who are doing the best the best they can with what they’re given to work with.
Thank YOU for your service, for continuing to carry the torch, for All the extra sacrifice that you likely give because ANG members often spend considerable time of their own for which their “contract” doesn’t compensate them for nor fully acknowledge!! Yet they continue to go above and beyond to support the mission, core values and preserve freedom for all. My sincerest appreciation for the service You are providing. It’s not an operational level issue, it’s a senior leadership issue/opportunity.

I live in NW Arizona and am closer to Nellis AFB in Las Vegas. Is their attitude better? I plan to try to make any arrangements at Nellis.

I JUST POSTED THAT WE HAD FLOWN SPACE-A MANY TIMES WITH GREAT SUCCESS. MY HUSBAND IS NOW DISABLED SO THAT PUT A STOP TO IT. HOWEVER, NOW THAT YOU ARE ALLOWING DISABLED VETS TO FLY IT STILL DOESN'T HELP AS HE CAN'T FLY WITHOUT ME TO ASSIST HIM.

Just called Travis A.F.B. on May 31, 2019, on the 100% disability Veteran issue. Spouses can not fly, stupid, but what do I expect.

Sgt Mark DePaula - Not all 100% Disabled Veterans can fly all by themselves I would suggest inclusion to Policy Revision for verification.

Well, I usually try to stay as far away from the military as I can, as I was almost murdered by my fellow soldiers, subjected to mental abuse, physical abuse, personal shaming, attacks from power mad NCO's and officers and prosecuted for being forced to investigate a battalion commander for sexual harassment when his best friend became my company commander. However, I was led to understand that Space A flights for soldiers, without family were always allowed, and that Space A to overseas destination allowed families, or at least spouses? was that ever the case? or is this just about National guard/reserve flights? Anyway, that was long ago, but it doesn't surprise me. We can spend millions on training pilots from SUPPOSEDLY, non-hostile countries and enable them to be terrorists. when will people learn that some religions, are mind control vessels.
Hope you disabled folks can get some relief from....hmmm, our government. Best wishes, merry Christmas!
