The unit made it mandatory that every take and pass SSD-1, I had to take a few days off to complete it. I turned the certificate in for pay 7 months ago, and I still haven't gotten paid. I went back in a few months ago and they said I will get paid soon. Should I remain persistent with it?

Personally, I would go in and ask to see the paymaster and sit in his office until you are paid or shown proof of payment submission.

I didn't know we could get paid for SSD. Explains why they always pushed it onto us during drill and AT instead of allowing us to actually train.

My unit told us to do it outside of drill. If the certificate falls on a drill day, you won't get compensated for it.

You need to make sure they put it in properly. They should pay you under RMA pay. That is how I got paid and it definitely didn't take as long as you have been waiting. If you can get your squad leader to contact S1 and check the status of pay. If you have S1's contact information then you might wanna contact them directly.

Always stay persistent. The only way to get paid is to keep nagging until you get it. I wouldn't say do it everyday, but keep asking until you get paid. Just make sure you keep an eye out for it. Because if they accidentally over pay you or something they will get their money back as soon as they can. With any special pay they usually take their time getting it you you. Unless you have a solid admin section that doesn't try to bone you. It may reflect the next time you go into pay status, but i'm sure you have already been back in pay status since then. I'm guessing you already covered yourself with the DA Form 1380?

Does anyone know where to find the policy? I am in the Reserves and had no problem getting paid for SSD1 and 2 but my husband is in the Guard and they are trying to tell him that you do not get paid for doing SSD on your own time... bull!! We need to get our hands on the policy.

I took my SSD-2 back in September 2015. A year later i havent been paid yet. I continue to ask every drill about a status and they tell me its due to funding. Looking at some of the responses, i think i will confirm that all documents were submitted correctly next drill.

Wait, we can get paid for that? The Guard owes me for a couple MUTAs then...
