I don't know a lot about Anonymous, but they have apparently been busy since the first attacks on France. Do you think an information attack on their propaganda pages, communication accounts and such will help any? They also appear to mine information out of ISIS communications and out their people. That very well could be of use. In any case, they do what they do for free and the sheer love of harassment. Now they seem to have picked up a cause. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3320055/Hacking-group-Anonymous-declares-war-Isis-YouTube-video.html

If it is serious, I think Anonymous might be able top do some serious damage on ISIS propaganda, recruiting and financial pages and networks PO3 Sherry Thornburg. They might be able to more long-term damage to ISIS than our bombing campaign.

The bias in the video will surprise you - but the video is actually on the last page.

PO3 Sherry Thornburg - PO ; As with ANY media source, don't accept 100% of anything that al-Jazeera says as being 100% true.

Well... Cyber Warfare IS a very real thing. So who better to hack ISIS than the very best hackers in the world, Anonymous?
What I think they will do is not only take down all of ISIS's networks, but take all of their intel and give it to the right people (I.e., governments) so that we know where they are and bomb their asses back to the stone age.

Yes, we all know that Anonymous plays by nobodies rules. And we will hope they turn over the information (quietly) to government sources so the terrorists aren't warned.

By their name alone, we have no clue who is a part of the group so we have no way of knowing their actual skill levels. Hell, you or I could be members of Anonymous and we wouldn't know. My point is, sometimes you have to break the law to enforce the law/catch a criminal(s).

PO3 Sherry Thornburg - PO; "Anonymous" isn't really interested in doing anything quietly.
PO1 John Miller - PO; Sometimes there is an advantage to be gained by NOT catching the rule breakers - even when you know who they are. The official term is "plausible deniability" and I really doubt that the members of "Anonymous" do not know who they are.
I might well go along with "Sometimes rules have to be allowed to be broken to enforce the laws." but I can never go along with "The government is allowed to break the law to enforce the law.". I know that it is a picky point, but it is - in my opinion - a vital one for the preservation of freedom.
