How was it positive or negative and what was the factor that helped to make your experience a positive one or a negative one? Please do not post any Protected Health Information(PHI) here. For this discussion let's limit this to the DOD system only and not the VA system.

Typically I found most VA doctors rude and condescending. So I go to civilian doctors with my regular insurance.

All the people I have contacted with the VA are very very nice except they are bonded by all of the stupid rules

So far it has been non-existent. I received a letter from the VA that I had been denied military benefits. No reason given other than they could not find my records in DEERS or OMPF! Not off to a great start. It's a shame, the nearest RBOC is 23 miles away and I went to school with the current "Doc in a Box" :-)
Thanks

Rick, I went through the same process, but I bugged people on and on and I finally got my military medical benefits

I retired and do not qualify for any health benefits. Spent 20 years to my country. While a congressman gets benefits only after serving a few years where is the fairness in that?

Even though my records show I had tuberculosis and lots of physical therapy for my back yet since those aren't chronic I don't get benefits.

I have had negative experiences, now that I am a senior citizen. It only has gotten worse.
