So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

Annnnnd, go...

Typically if someone is just walking around wearing it as an article of clothing, I don't care you can find a lot of this stuff at goodwill too. But trying to gain something from wearing it, that's a different story.

Isn't funny that whenever someone speaks about serving or knowing someone who served it was about serving as a special forces person never a cook or such. I think that is a good way to find the people who are bullshitting.

Maybe an app that will have such things as DD214 and other things to prove that you served would be a helpful tool.

I once met a turd who claimed to be a Major in the SEALs, His BS got deeper and deeper until I lose my mind on him. He was a friend of my neighbor, so I was trying to be nice until he got to the point where he was assaulting Kuwait on a SeeDoo, then I called him out very bluntly.

I met one of these guys, went over to my buddies house years ago and his sisters new boyfriend claimed to be former ranger battalion, I knew something was fishy so a asked what his MOS was and he responded "18 bravo ODST". I didn't cuss him out, I didn't pull out my phone and start recording a video for youtube. I simply chuckled and walked away, pulled my buddy to the side and told him his sisters new boyfriend was full of crap. Im with everyone else in feeling a desire to curb stomp these turds but the truth is that they make themselves look stupid enough without my help, and if i were to treat them like a private all the average person will see are two idiots instead of one, one idiot dressed up like a peacock and the other one pummeling him with curse words and military jargon. In my situation things turned around on that guy quick, they started asking him questions and found out he was lying (Army basic was to hard for him), and my buddies sister dumped him because she didn't want to date a sissy. We should always conduct ourselves as professionals, especially around the public because they wont understand the hooting and hollering.

I have seen people like this before. believe it or not, I have encountered a lot of these people with mental issues. They almost have a mind of an 8 year old. They pretend to be their heroes and want to be like them and feel part of them. Please take the time to talk to them first before attacking them. The adults who are actually trying to gain something are the real problems that need to be dealt with
