So I saw my first military poser today at Wal-Mart of all places. Had Army ACUs, popped collar, what looked like a white turtleneck and Doc Marten's boots, patrol cap on indoors, no name tapes anywhere, Marine Corps Globe-and-Anchor on his pc, no unit patches and an American flag patch with no stars. I asked him what unit he was in, he responded with being an E-7 petty officer in the Navy.

I seen a guy in his 20's with a Vietnam Veteran hat on. I didn't confront him since I didn't have my phone. Stolen valor needs to be recorded.

First off no one who served in the Navy would respond with E-7 Petty officer...they would say they were a Chief at that rank....people like this really get me pissed off

You think these posers would do a little research on the uniform they are wearing, and what kind of person likes false accolades, I don't get it.

I have seen- I have worked with them. I have never felt my service in the Army as glamorous. So I never understood the "poser" I worked with this young security guard Major poser, but it was sad. He always wanted to serve but was physically incapable, he wanted to be a cop , but more of the same. He marched around campus with body armor and cameo like he was the shit. Talked about his hand to hand skill when its obvious my grandma could take him. In the end he really wanted to be a soldier like a little boy wants to grow up to be a fireman. It never made me mad. just made me feel like maybe his posing is just adult idol worship. Misguided but also flattering ,
